Pinned: questions and answers
Short answers about how Pinned handles your records. Your records stay on your device and there is no account. The app does not recommend doses or injection sites. You can export, back up or delete everything yourself, and Pinned runs on both iPhone and iPad.
Where does Pinned keep my records?
On your iPhone or iPad. Pinned has no account, does not keep your protocols, doses or health entries on a server, and does not sync them through iCloud. A few things do leave the device, such as purchase records and optional anonymous usage counts; the privacy policy lists each one, and none of them contains a health entry.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for: no email address, no password and no login.
Does Pinned recommend doses, compounds or protocols?
No. Pinned records what you enter and does arithmetic on your own numbers. The app says so in its own words: it “does not recommend compounds, doses, stacks, sources, or protocols.” Decisions about a protocol belong with you and your clinician.
Does Pinned tell me where to inject next?
No. The body map records the site you actually used, and each dot fades as time passes since that site was last used. It does not pick the next site and does not enforce a rest period. The log sheet puts it plainly: “The map does not recommend an injection location.”
Can I export my records?
Yes. Settings has Export records, with TXT, CSV, JSON and PDF. A file leaves your device only when you export it and choose where to send it.
Does Pinned sync between my devices?
No. Without an account there is no sync, not even between your own iPhone and iPad. To move to a new device, create an Encrypted backup in Settings, protected by a passphrase you choose, and use Restore from backup on the new device. Without the passphrase the backup cannot be opened.
Does Pinned work on iPad?
Yes. The App Store listing names both iPhone and iPad as supported devices and requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later (checked on 25 September 2026). Records are kept per device and do not sync, so choose the device you want your record on.
How do I delete my data?
In Settings, Clear local data erases every record Pinned holds on the device; it cannot be undone. Deleting the app also deletes its data. The delete your data page explains what exists outside the device and how to have it erased.
