What Pinned does, feature by feature

Log a dose in one tap

The Home screen shows what is due next, and Record dose logs it. The log sheet has an Actual time field, so a dose taken earlier can be backfilled with the right time, and an unscheduled dose can be recorded on its own.

Reminder notifications carry a Log dose action, so a dose can be recorded without opening the app.

Schedules, on/off cycles and stacks

A protocol repeats daily, every set number of days, or on the weekdays you pick, and you can add a repeating on/off cycle of 1 to 60 days on and 1 to 60 days off. Protocols can be active, paused or archived without losing their history.

One protocol can hold several compounds, which is how Pinned records a stack, and several protocols run side by side. The Overview shows the scheduled records for the next seven days.

Reminders on your iPhone

Reminders for planned doses and check-ins are scheduled on the device itself. From a notification you can log the dose, snooze it or skip it. With the app lock turned on, the notification text leaves out compound and protocol names.

Vials, concentration and what is left

Supplies lists every vial with its amount, the date to discard it and how much remains; logging a dose from a vial lowers the remaining amount. A dry vial has a Reconstitute action that records the diluent and its volume against the vial, so the vial carries its concentration in mg/mL.

Diluent and syringes can be tracked as supplies too. A diluent bottle shows the volume remaining and can carry a low alert.

Concentration arithmetic

The Calculator tab works from the vial amount and diluent volume you enter, for U-100 or U-40 syringes, and How it's calculated shows the working. The app states that it does not choose a dose.

In the browser, the reconstitution calculator gives the concentration in mg/mL and the mass in one U-100 unit from those two numbers.

Body map: a record of where you injected

When you log a dose you pick the route (SubQ, IM, nasal, oral or topical) and tap the site you used on a front and back body map. Dots fade as time passes since each site was last used, so recent history is visible at a glance.

The map records and nothing more. The log sheet says so: “Select only the site you actually used. The map does not recommend an injection location.”

Weight, measurements and daily check-ins

A quick check-in records energy, sleep, mood and any symptoms. Measurements cover weight, waist, blood pressure, glucose and a custom value, and progress photos are stored with your local record.

History lists every entry day by day, with a search across all records.

Read-only Apple Health import

Pinned can import up to 30 days of supported Apple Health data, such as weight, waist, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, steps, active energy and sleep. Access is read-only: Pinned never writes data back to Apple Health.

Progress also shows adherence as a calendar grid of the days with a taken record.

Export, encrypted backup and Face ID lock

Export records saves your record as TXT, CSV, JSON or PDF when you choose to. Encrypted backup writes a file protected by a passphrase only you know, which you restore on a new iPhone or iPad.

Face ID app lock asks for Face ID or the device passcode before the app opens. Clear local data erases everything Pinned holds on the device.

What Pinned does not do

Pinned has no account and no sync between devices; your records live on the device you enter them on. In the app's own words, it “does not recommend compounds, doses, stacks, sources, or protocols.” It does not tell you where to inject next, and it is not a medical device.
