Regimen alternative: analytics, or a plain record
The same ledger, with and without an analytics layer. Facts from Apple's App Store listings, checked 30 July 2026.
Regimen and Pinned overlap more than any other pair on this site: the same category list, the same free-first-compound pricing model, and a reconstitution calculator that works the same way. Regimen adds a layer Pinned does not have — a correlation engine that ties every dose to symptoms, labs and Apple Health metrics — and it runs on iOS 14.0 against Pinned's 18.0, with 266 ratings against zero, both as of 30 July 2026. Pinned's remaining case is that it deliberately does not infer anything.
The overlap is the honest starting point
Regimen's App Store description lists what it tracks: peptides, GLP-1 medications, testosterone replacement, hormone replacement, performance compounds, oral medications, nasal sprays, and anything custom with a dosing schedule. That is very close to Pinned's own list, in the same order of priority.
The commercial model matches too — track one compound free with no limitations, pay for unlimited compounds and advanced features. So does the calculator: vial size and bacteriostatic water in, units to draw out, in mg, mcg or IU. And the scheduling covers the same ground: daily, weekly, every-so-many-days, specific weekdays, as-needed, and on/off cycles with reminders that follow them.
Anyone claiming these are wildly different products has not read both listings. The difference is real but it sits in one specific place.
The numbers, as of 30 July 2026
iOS 14.0 is the row worth pausing on. Regimen reaches phones four major releases older than Pinned's floor, and at 38 MB it is one of the lighter apps in the category too.

The difference is the layer on top
Regimen's listing describes automatic Apple Health sync for weight, body fat, sleep, resting heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation; daily tracking across 50+ markers including energy, mood, sleep quality and injection-site reactions; bloodwork logging; and an engine that connects doses to those symptoms, labs and metrics to surface what appears to be working. That is a genuine analytics product built on top of a dose log.
Pinned stops at the log. It records weight, bloodwork and quality-of-life markers, shows them on the same timeline as your doses, and lets you export the whole thing as CSV or PDF. It draws no conclusions and offers no signals. Its Apple Health import is read-only and limited to what you select, rather than a broad automatic sync.
For a lot of people, the correlation layer is exactly the reason to use an app at all, and for them Regimen is the better product. For others, a record that never editorialises is the point — particularly if the plan is to hand the export to a clinician and let them do the interpreting.
What Pinned holds onto
Three things survive the overlap, and they are worth being specific about rather than padding out.
- Language: English, Dutch, French and German, not just English
- Custody: no account and no server — the record stays on the device behind an optional Face ID lock, with the cost that there is no sync and no cloud backup
- Restraint: no modelled levels, no correlation claims, no compound library — the app converts numbers you enter and records what you log, and nothing else
Which to pick
Pick Regimen if you want the analysis, if you want broad automatic Apple Health sync, if your phone predates iOS 18, or if 266 ratings against zero settles it for you.
Pick Pinned if you want the record in your own language, if you want it to stay on your phone, or if you would rather an app never told you what your data means.
FAQ
- Does Pinned correlate doses with symptoms?
- No. It charts weight, bloodwork and quality-of-life markers on the same timeline as your dose history so you can look, but it runs no correlation engine and makes no claims about what is working. Regimen's listing describes exactly that capability, so choose it if you want the analysis done for you.
- Do both apps cover TRT and HRT as well as peptides?
- Yes. Both list testosterone replacement, hormone replacement, GLP-1s, peptides, orals, nasal sprays and custom compounds. Scope is not what separates these two.
- Which runs on an older iPhone?
- Regimen, at iOS 14.0 against Pinned's 18.0 as of 30 July 2026. That is four major releases of extra reach, and it decides the question outright for anyone on an older device.
- How does Pinned use Apple Health?
- Read-only, and only for what you choose to import. Regimen's listing describes automatic sync across a wider set of metrics. Pinned's approach imports less by design and never writes back.
- Is either app free to try properly?
- Both offer one compound free with no time limit. Pinned Pro adds unlimited compounds and stacks, the full calculator, advanced scheduling and CSV or PDF export. Check the current in-app prices for both before deciding.
- Does Pinned recommend a schedule?
- No. Every compound, amount and schedule is entered by you. Pinned is a personal record-keeping tool, not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or dosing recommendations.
