These guides explain the arithmetic and the practices behind injection tracking: how concentration is derived, what a syringe unit actually measures, why sites are rotated, and how supplies are stored and travelled with. They stop where advice begins — no doses, no ranges, no schedules — which is a deliberate limit rather than an omission.
What these guides cover
Every guide here answers a question that has a defensible answer: what a number means, how one quantity converts into another, why a practice exists at all. Those questions have correct answers that do not depend on who is asking, which is precisely what makes them safe to publish.
The demand is real and it is not for advice. People who arrive here have usually already been told what to do and are stuck on the conversion — how much liquid, which mark on the barrel, what the vial now contains. That is arithmetic, and arithmetic is something a website can genuinely help with.
- Definitions: what a unit is, what a concentration is, what a calibration is.
- Conversions: amount to volume, volume to syringe marks, and the unit changes in between.
- Mechanisms: why a practice like site rotation exists and what it is trying to avoid.
- General handling: light, temperature, labels, sharps, and travel realities.
What they will never contain
No dose attached to any compound. No ranges, no starting points, no titration, no rotation schedule, no recommended diluent volume. If a question is really "how much should I take", these pages do not answer it and will not be edited to.
Pinned's Terms state that it does not recommend compounds, sources, doses, or protocols. The site is held to the same standard as the app, for the same reason: those answers depend on a person, a product and a prescriber, and a page that has met none of the three is in no position to give them.
Who writes them, and what that is worth
They are written by the person who builds Pinned, not by a clinician, and they are scoped accordingly. Arithmetic and definitions do not require a medical qualification to state correctly — and everything that does require one is deliberately absent, pointed instead at the product's own labelling, the prescriber, or the pharmacist.
Where a guide could give you a satisfying number and does not, that is the boundary working, not the guide being incomplete.
Reading them alongside the app
The guides explain the arithmetic; the calculator performs it; the app performs it against a vial that actually exists in your cabinet and keeps the result with the entry. Each stage does the same sums — the difference is only how much context is carried for you.
None of them decides anything. The vial, the diluent volume, the amount and the syringe are yours to supply at every stage.
Pinned converts numbers you enter. Nothing in these guides recommends a compound, a source, a dose, a diluent volume, or a protocol, and nothing here is medical advice.
Common questions
- Do these guides recommend doses?
- No, and none of them will. They cover arithmetic, definitions and the reasoning behind common practices. Any question of how much, how often, or which compound belongs to a clinician who knows your situation.
- Why won't you publish a rotation schedule or a diluent volume?
- Because both are protocol, and both depend on the product, the route and the person. A generic figure would look authoritative while being unverifiable for your case, which is worse than sending you to the source that can answer it.
- Are the guides written by a clinician?
- No. They are written by Pinned's founder and confined to what can be stated correctly without clinical judgement — arithmetic, unit definitions, and why practices exist. The clinical parts are pointed at your clinician and the product's own labelling rather than answered here.
- Are these pages available in other languages?
- Yes. Guides are available in English, Dutch, French and German. Each language has its own URL and its own reviewed copy, so a reader searching in Dutch, French or German does not land on an English page wearing a prefix.
- Do I need the app to use these guides?
- No. The guides and the calculator work on their own with nothing to install and no account. The app matters when you want the numbers kept against a real vial instead of recalculated each time.
